Simon Townsend was the lone Chorley AC runner to don a Santa hat and scale the 4m Whinberry Naze Fell Race on Boxing Day.
Deep snow covered most of the course, which affected times, but he did finish strongly in 38th (from about 140 runners) in 34:44.
Many runners were in fancy dress, and all were rewarded with a tube of sweets at the top of the climb by 'Santa' himself.
PS This is a great little fell race (despite the weather), and the £3 entry fee is money well spent.
I'll possibly so it in full fancy dress next year.
