A very blustery day had the Pennington Flash all whipped up like the sea to greet the final SE Lancs XC fixture of 2011/12 at Leigh Sports Village where Chorley AC's U11 athletes seemed to be the only ones turning up for business against some very strong Manchester outfits in coming 4th with some very close positions and timings. Ben Hughes(11th) and Scott Gouldthorpe(13th) were in a group of 4 who all crossed the line together with only marginal fractions of difference followed closely by Luke Hunter(16th) and Jack Hughes(22nd). Emily Hunter equaled her brothers position of 16th in the girls race. Fergus Tallon, who has been majestic todate leading the U15s in 1st place overall, had an off-day coming in 5th thus sadly dethroning himself. The paltry five seniors who toed the line made a fight of things with Paul Wareing leading with a good race in 47th with a large gap back to the supporting oldies of Barry Chester(126th), Phil McCullagh(136th), Tom Hilton(144th) and Mike Coppin(145th). No team overall but were 13th V40 team, 8th V50 team and 3rd V60.
