The final Red Rose XC at Rossendale lived up to its reputation as the muddiest of all events and almost no competitor remained without a tumble. Chorley Ac however competed well starting with heartbreak for Lewis Tiley in the U11s who was running well in 3rd place only to lose a shoe in the mud which he could not find yet ran on to the finish with only one shoe but inevitably losing places to finish 14th challenged by Ben Hughes(16th) & Luke Hunter(17th). The shoe was eventually found and returned by a spectator ! Scott Gouldthorpe was 22nd followed by Emily Hunter(24th), Jack Hughes(29th) and Ethan Joyce(35th). The U11s were 5th team. Dominic Gouldthorpe(37th) & Ben Green(40th) gave the U13s a good go. In the U15s Fergus Tallon appeared covered in mud in 6th place after several falls. The U17s continued their good form with a first team place led by Ryan Sciacca(5th), Joe Ellison(10th) and Adam Sciacca(11th). The seniors were 14th team & 11th Vet team with Paul Wareing(73rd), Dave Kershaw(107th), Simon Townsend(114th), Lee Roberts(125th), Henry Minorczyk(136th), Barry Chester(151st), John Minton(156th), Phil McCullagh(159th) Tom Hilton & Mike Coppin(162nd & 163rd). John Minton & Mike Coppin were 2nd V70 & V65 with Henry & Dave Kershaw as 4th V60 & V55 respectively.
