Almost perfect ground conditions although a cold wind greeted a smaller than usual contingent of Chorley AC runners for the Red Rose Cross-Country race at Chesham Park, Bury. In the U13 boys Daniel Bebbington ran his usual solid race but got on the wrong end of a group finish ending up 15th rather than 10th in 9:53 followed in the U15s with an excellent performance by Luke Betts 17th(15:19) and a marvellous effort by Jordan Hampson 29th(17:52) in his first race. Jeanette Murray found it tougher this week in the ladies coming 70th(37:33) but 7th junior lady. The men were lead home by Nathan Lawton 26th(37:10) in certainly the best run of the day only 3mins down on the winner over a 5 lap course and was supported by Paul Wareing 98th(43:10) and Roy Paul 109th(44:15) who were both pleased at their improved performances. Barry Chester 139th(46:38) seemed partially back to his old form with a last lap charge closely followed by Michael Murray 144th(47:38), Eddie Murray 154th(50:02) who avoided being resultlisted by wearing a strange no. and Les Paul 163rd(61:26) who again bested Mike Coppin 164th(62:08).
Chorley AC were 14th team both overall and in the vets and the best individual category position was Eddie Murray as 3rd vet65.
