The North of England cross-country running Championships came to Witton Park, Blackburn for 2010 on a tough course with pretty good running conditions Chorley AC athletes fared thus.

Fergus Tallon when right up in the first 20 in the U13s slipped and twisted his knee and although hobbling on could only register a very disappointing 83rd place.

Adam Sciacca was again the best of the U15s in 68th ably supported by Ryan Sciacca(93rd) and Joe Ellison(121st).

Luke Betts gained the Clubs best finishing position of the day being 38th in the U17s.

From a massive field of seniors Simon Townsend just pipped Paul Wareing by 1 second and 1 place in 393rd with Dave Taylor(467th) heading Ian Walker(481st) and Rick Cordwell(490th). The Lancashire medal contingent of Henry Minorczyk and Barry Chester were next in 514th & 541st with Marco Sciacca none the worse for his pre-race bag of chips in 557th. Phil McCullagh in 596th gained a few scalps and Mike Coppin(600th) was pleased to finish before the dark. Overall Chorley AC were happy in achieving 49th team position in the North of England.
