Some CAC runners have been preentered. Entry List
The North of England Cross Country Championships came to Manchester this year at Heaton Park but were sadly not contested by many Chorley AC athletes.
The course, on a pretty good afternoon weather wise, was long but fair with several seriously deep mud traps although it was the perpetual undulations which tired out the runners most.
Young Andrew Holmes was first off with a pretty good performance trying to get himself into shape for next weeks Lancashire school championships at Witton Park. In the mens race David Taylor ran very well for 434th place(47:13) followed by Barry Chester in 525th(50:25) who seemed to be gaining places the further the race progressed, Stuart Swann 585th(53:30) talked into the race at the final minute and Mike Coppin 640th(69:05).
Next week is the Blackburn Winter Warmer 10K on Sunday 4th Feb from Witton Park, and all Club members are asked to run or help in the Chorley AC/Harriers Mid Lancs XC race from Parklands school on Saturday 10th Feb.
