Results | Photos A small, young team from Chorley AC visited Bury to compete in the second Northern Men and Women (senior) Athletic league meeting. U20 sprinter Bolu Olufon claimed a splendid 2nd in the 100ms and PBs in 100m (11.3s), 200m (25s) and Long Jump (5.65m). He was supported by Michael Churn who also got a seasons best of 12.8s in the 100m, and two 5th paces in the 100m and 200m. The U17 Sciacca brothers also bettered previous performances, with PB/SBs for Adam in Long Jump (4.90m) and 800m (2-10.5m), and Ryan two 3rd places in the 800m(2-05.3m) and 400m (53.1s). U17 Joe Ellison also PB in the 1500m (4-38.8s). V45 Simon Townsend 6th in the 5000m over 5 minutes behind an incredible run from a Bury athlete(15-02.06). U20 Jodie Farnworth won the High Jump with 1.55m. U17 Francesca Jackson PB'd and 3rd place in Triple Jump(8.18m) and also performed well in the Long Jump. U17 Anya Townsend again threw two PBs and 4th places in Discus (18.66m) and Javelin (21.12m) in blustery conditions. More information to follow when results published. |

Results | Photos Chorley A.C's Track and Field Team competed in the first Northern Men and Women Meet of the season at Oldham with 13 athletes taking part. The ladies team saw three U17 athletes make their debuts, Anya Townsend did 3 events and had 3 P.B's coming 3rd A in the Javelin, 4th A in the Discus and 4th B in the Shot, Heather Baxendale 2 P.B's in 6th A in the Shot and 4th B in the Discus and Francensca Jackson with a P.B in the Triple Jump for 3rd A place and was 2nd B in the Long Jump. Junior Lady Jodie Farnworth won the High Jump and 5th A in the Long Jump. The men's team also had a new member in their squad, Junior Man Bolu Olufon who achieved 2 P.B's in the Long Jump for 5th A and in the 200m for 5th B. 3 P.B's fell to Rick Cordwell in the 100m with 4th B spot, 200m 4th A and in the Shot and also came 3rd B in the Long Jump. John Wright made up the sprint squad with 3rd A in the 100m. Middle distance saw Luke Betts who took a commanding lead to win the 800m and lower his P.B to 1.58.5 and then went on to win the 1500m A event with Adam Sciacca competing in the B Race and going on to achieve a P.B in the Triple Jump. Ryan Sciacca finished 3rd A in his 400m race and was 2nd B in the 800m. Simon Townsend and Marco Sciacca had the longest track race the 5000m coming home in 5th A and 3rd B respectively. Jonathan Betts and Marco Sciacca elected to compete in the Javelin recording 5th place in both the A and B events. The final events of the day saw the Relay runners in action and both the men's 4 x 100m squad Rick Cordwell, John Wright, Bolu Olufon and Ryan Sciacca and the 4 x 400m squad Luke Betts, Adam Sciacca, Bolu Olufon and Ryan Sciacca got the baton safely round for 3rd place. |
