Once again Chorley Athletic Club's International race walking champion John Payn helped his team achieve major success in this Saturday's 20K race walking championships held at Simister, Manchester.

On a undulating course, and against a stiff breeze, John finished first Vet 70, and in the open class helped his team achieve the overall Silver medal.

John's time of 2hrs 18 mins, whilst below his best, was still good enough to keep him amongst the elite performers.
