Interclub races are simple ... just turn up at the start and run.

Race distances tend to be 4 to 5 miles. Club kit must be worn. There is no pre-race registration but at the end of the race you will be given a card with your race position on it which you need to complete and place in the CAC box (or Guest box if you've not yet joined). Thursday 1st May 2008 - Lytham

Final Results

A surprisingly nice evening greeted the second Inter Club race of 2008 at Lytham where Chorley AC held onto their overall 5th place with performances from their athletes Paul Wareing 77th(33:13), Emma Perrin 90th(33:48) and Stephen Fletcher 98th(34:11). Michael Murray was pleased with his 142nd place(37:07) after being briefly challenged by Barry Chester 149th(37:50) followed by a tight group of athletes led by Christine Sweatman 169th(39:54), then Jeanette Murray 170th(40:13) and Phil McCullagh 171st(40:14). Tim Croston 185th(41:44), Janet Pound 187th(42:59) and Paul Cunliffe 192nd(43:33) were next with Charlotte Murray 198th(45:40) being pushed along by John Payn 199th(45:52) leaving Mike Coppin ably to finish the team in 213th(47:57).

Overall on the night the vets and the vet 50s teams came 6th with the ladies and the vet 60s doing better in 5th place. Charlotte Murray and John Payn were both first in their categories with Christine Sweatman and Stephen Fletcher being second and third respectively. The next Inter-Club race is on Wednesday 11th June at Penwortham, Preston.

Wednesday 2nd April 2008 - Blackpool

Final Results

The Inter Club series between Blackpool, Preston, Lytham, Wesham, Red Rose and Chorley has started again for 2008 with the first race being at Blackpool's Stanley Park. Chorley AC had an excellent turn out with Sam Hewison first back in 37th(23:33) followed by Nathan Lawton 58th(24:34) running with a chest infection and good runs from Paul Wareing 72nd(25:13), Emma Perrin 93rd(26:31) and Stephen Fletcher 104th(27:08). Ted Orrell as first Vet 65 was 126th(28:11) in front of a real scramble between Michael Murray 146th, Adrian Fairhurst 147th and Barry Chester 148th all separated by 1 second in 29:18,29:18 & 29:19. Next came Jeanette Murray 169th(31:04) with the star run of the evening at a 3.5 minute improvement on her last years run tailed by Phil McCullagh 196th(32:56), Tim Croston 203rd(33:51) and Stuart Swann 204th(34:02). Then another close group of Paul Cunliffe 211th(35:00), Mike Coppin 212th(35:11) and Janet Pound 213rd(35:21) really struggling with her breathing just heading Adrian Smith 219th(36:00) and Charlotte Murray 225th(37:36). Charlotte was first lady junior with Stephen Fletcher and Janet Pound both being 5th in their vet categories. Paul Wareing, Emma Perrin and Mike Coppin all improved their times of last year. In the team performance Chorley AC was nothing but consistent being 5th overall, 5th vet team, 5th ladies, 5th vet 50 and 5th vet 60 teams.

In the presentation afterwards for the 2007 Inter Club series Chorley AC athletes Stephen Fletcher won 2nd vet 55 award and Charlotte Murray the 1st junior lady prize.
