Race Results

Wednesday 10th May 2006

On a very warm Wednesday night Chorley AC celebrated the second Inter-Club race at Preston with a truely phenomenal run by 15 year old Andrew Holmes who came 26th in 29mins 12sec. He was well supported by Nathan Lawton with a good run for 52nd place in 31:04. Next a magnificent effort from a far from well Stephen Fletcher in 63rd(32:24) followed by Barry Chester in 89th(34:41) and Janet Pound 124th(39:10). New man Paul Waering had a very promising first race in 140th(40:00) being shepherded around by Stuart Swann in 141st(40:01). Next was John Swift in 154th(41:44) followed by a flurry of CAC men in 166th, 167th and 168th places with John Payn(42:56), Eddie Murray(43:10) and Les Paul(43:22) trailed by Mike Coppin 173rd(44:26).

Overall Chorley did not fare particularly well but did come 6th in the vets and 5th in the Vet 50s. Individual honours were however gained by Andrew Holmes who was 1st junior, Janet Pound and John Payn who were 2nd lady vet 50 and male vet 70 respectively and Stephen Fletcher who was 3rd vet 55. John Swift also made 5th vet 65 with Barry Chester 6th vet 55. A good effort from our largely aged team.
