The Harrock Hill race series 2009 opened at Parbold this week with an excellent run by Paul Bass in 22nd(39:47) with next man Henry Minorczyk 63rd(44:54) as 3rd vet 60 followed by Michael Murray Snr 68th(45:47) with a much improved performance despite losing his shoe and thus some places. Young Steven Cole ran particularly well through most of the race just fading at the end to 96th(53:02). The final phalanx contained Steven Wilde 109th(57:42) a nose in front of Phil McCullagh 110th(57:48) then Mike Coppin 112th(62:58).

The second Harrock Hill race of 2009 had Paul Bass in first in 33rd(40:23) followed by Dave Kershaw 58th(43:43), Michael Murray 66th(44:33) with over a minutes improvement on his previous time, Mike Coppin 115th(62:05) with a 53sec improvement and Les Paul 117th(63:03).

The third Harrock Hill race was attended by Dave Kershaw 57th(42:53) who is benefiting from his longest uninjured spell, Henry Minorczyk 68th(44:07), Phil McCullagh 121st(60:12) who for once avoided spraining his ankle and Mike Coppin 124th(67:30) who did twist a knee. Henry was 2nd vet60 and prized with a tray of fruit & veg with Mike getting a spot prize bag of potatoes.

The final Harrock Hill race of 2009 took place on a very wet evening with Chorley AC's Paul Bass coming home first for the club in 34th place(40:51), followed by Paul Wareing 52nd(43:01), Dave Kershaw 53rd(43:04) and Phil McCullagh 95th(62:21). In the series overall Paul Bass was 19th, Dave Kershaw 34th and 4th vet50 with Mike Coppin 61st as 5th vet60.
