Chorley Athletic Club runners deserve the highest accolade after their successes in the BUPA Great Manchester Junior Run. Competing against thousands of other youngsters the Chorley Ac runners proved they are a match for anyone. However it certainly was a double family affair! Over a 1.8K course for up to 8 year olds, Ac's Sam Croston proved he is a match for anyone, producing a magnificent performance to come home ahead of all the other runners. Sam's sister Lucy’s (13 yrs and competing in the longer distance) finished 28th overall in a time of 10.07, an improvement on her time of 10.21 in the 2008 race. Club Treasurer Tim Croston was delighted by their performance, as was club chairman John Payn.

The Sciacca brothers also produced scintillating performances with Ryan finishing 5th out of 576 in a time of 7:53 mins and Adam chasing him all the way to finish 16th out of 576 in a time of 8:40 mins "These outstanding performances show that dedication with quality coaching produces outstanding results" said chairman John Payn
