The streets of Copenhagen in Denmark proved to be somewhat of a double triumph for Chorley Athletic Club Chairman, John Payn. John breezed past both fellow GB competitors and fellow Europeans to take the European Gold in the 30K non stadia masters race walking event.



John's outstanding achievement also helped the GB team to team gold, producing an outstanding clean sweep of the medals.

Promotions officer, Terry Dickenson highlighted how John has been the most successful International competitor that Chorley has produced. "John has an outstanding record of coming home with either European or World Medals, normally of the gold variety! He is an outstanding sporting ambassador for the area and a great inspiration to younger athletes."Full Results
