Chorley AC would also like to thank Wigan Harriers for the superb evening, and also to Horwich for helping with this league. Clearly this league is going from strength to strength, and will become one of the major sporting events in the young athletes calendar

Eight young athletes, all from Chorley AC represented the combined Chorley team at Robin Park, Wigan. All the young athletes performed well above expectation, and in the words of coach John Payn, ' were outstanding '!
The team competed against strong teams from Horwich and Wigan and were not out fazed by the competition.
Results are:
Years 3/4: Shannan Fadden 1st in 150 metres; Maxine Smith 2nd - 600m,4th - 150m
Year 5 : Connor White - 1st Long Jump, 2nd - 150m; Alex Mellor 3rd - High Jump, 4th -150m, 4th - 600m; Eleanor Derbyshire 4th - 150m,4th - High Jump, 6th - 600m; Ellie Coxhead 5th - 150m,5th - 600m, 5th - Long Jump
Year 6 : Ashley Smith 2nd - 600m,3rd - 150m; Jake Howard 3rd - 150m
The next meeting of this league takes place on Friday 16 June at Wigan starting at 6.30 pm.
Children of all ages are welcome to come and train on Monday evenings, 6.30 pm at Holy Cross RC High School and Sport and Science College"

The first meeting of the Primary age Athletics League was held at Robin Park stadium, Wigan on Friday 28 April.
The event was held between Chorley, Horwich and Wigan.
This is the first meeting of its kind in the Northwest, and is solely for children of primary school age.
Wigan and Horwich brought large squads for the competition. The combined Chorley youth group team consisted of 3 members from Chorley AC and 1 from the Harriers. They acquitted themselves extremely well. The three Athletic club members were Connor White who won the 75 metres race, and took second in the javelin, Alex Mellor was second in the girls javelin and Lauren Blackledge taking 5th in the same event. Oliver Marhew of the Harriers took first in the 600 metres.
The next league meeting will be held at Robin Park, and is on Friday 26 May starting at 6.30 pm.
