Two Chorley AC runners ventured north to this popular event. The course is fairly flat, pleasantly rural and mostly away from the traffic on paved sections of an old railway route. A good course for anyone thinking of losing their half marathon virginity. Unfortunately this year the weather conditions were tricky with a strong headwind assailing the runners for the last 6 miles.
Undeterred, Stephe Fletcher showed his renewed fitness by edging under the 90 minute barrier for the first time in 3 years. Picking off other runners in the final miles he finished 53rd and 3rd V55.
Jan Pound, ran well but was slowed by the effects of a knee injury but this did not prevent her from finishing 3rd FV50 in 1:49:41.
