Two Chorley AC athletes competed for the first time in the recent Lancashire Track and Field Championships. Laura Ashcroft came 5th in both the under15 girl’s high jump and long jump, meanwhile Alex Snape was 7th in the under13 boys 800m.
Also competing were senior men Michael Churn and Nathan Lawton, Michael was 7th in the 100m and 5th in the 200m, and Nathan claimed 2nd place and silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase.
Stephanie Rawsthorne, under17 woman was 4th in the javelin.
Up and coming youngster Andrew Holmes, under17, set two personnel best of 4.29 mins in the 1500m and 9.26 mins in the 3000m taking a well deserved bronze medal.
Senior woman Emma Perin was 5th in the 800m, whilst the gold medal went to her team mate Laura Livesey who also won the 1500m to complete a fine double just like the famous Kelly Holmes.
Coach Stuart Swann was highly delighted with the impressive performance of all the athletes.
